We use Kotlin, the native language for Android applications, so the work stays current with the newest Android APIs as they ship.

Alongside Kotlin we use Jetpack, Google's own set of Android libraries. Between them they cover the interface, local storage, and background jobs that need to keep running after the app closes or the phone restarts.

Built for Every Android Screen, From Budget Phones to Tablets

Because we build natively where the app calls for it, we can write handlers and layouts specifically for tablets instead of stretching a phone screen to fill a larger display. Where a project needs a real tablet experience, with its own navigation and its own use of the space, we build that.

The same goes for foldables. An Android application can carry custom logic for the folded and unfolded states, so the app responds when the device changes shape rather than being caught out by it.

At the other end of the range, Android runs on plenty of older and cheaper hardware. Jetpack's libraries version separately from the operating system, so newer features still reach devices on older Android releases without us maintaining a second codebase. Android App Design With Material 3

Building natively is what lets us design with Material 3, which is Google's design system for Android. It sets out the components, the type scale, the motion, and how colour behaves across the system, so an app built on it follows the conventions Android users already recognise.

A lot of Android apps are really an iPhone design moved across, and they look off because of it. Navigation sits where iOS would put it, the controls are borrowed rather than native, and none of it matches the rest of the phone the app is running on.

Going native gives us the flexibility to design for Android on its own terms. As an Android app design company we build with Material 3 components and its theming, so the result looks like it belongs on the device instead of like something adapted from another platform.

Shipping

Google Play Launch, Testing Tracks, and Store Listing Done Right

Google Play gives us more room to stage a launch than the App Store does, and we use it. How far we take that depends on how much certainty you want before the app is public.

Play has three testing tracks and we move a build through as many as the project needs. Internal testing puts a build in front of a small group almost immediately. Closed testing widens it to people you choose. Open testing makes the beta available to anyone who wants to try it. Problems surface with real users on real devices before launch rather than after it.

Google also runs the app across a range of real devices in its own lab and sends back a pre launch report covering crashes, performance, and accessibility. That is a useful second opinion on top of our own device testing, and it often catches things a small test group would not.

When it is time to release, we can roll out to a percentage of users instead of everyone at once, raise that percentage as the numbers hold up, and halt it if something looks wrong. A bad release does not have to reach your whole user base.

The listing does a job too. The title, the description, the screenshots, and the feature graphic are what decide whether someone who found your app goes on to install it, so we treat that as part of our Android app development services rather than something filled in at the end.
